Rob Roy Mayoark ...
Hey there, I am a fellow Scot who moved here 10 years ago, and love and miss my country very much. I am also very proud of my ancestral heritage, it flows very strongly in my blood.
I absolutely loved the Braveheart and Rob Roy movies, Braveheart of course being the best.
I was 'scunnered'  at the English and and how they treated Wallace and Scots alike.
My husband and I and our two children, Heather and Cameron, went over in October 1996 and had the best time visiting Edinburgh, Stirling, Loch Lomond, Fife and Ayr, as well as Glasgow and my home town of East Kilbride.
We were inspired by the Braveheart movie to teach our children their roots.
We love the Braveheart Links.
Keep up the great work, it's pure dead brilliant...
Larry Chenery ...
These are two of my favorite movies of all time. I found myself thoroughly immersed in the history and pride of these great Scots. The humor found in Braveheart made me love the movie more so than Rob Roy. Since viewing these films, I've visited a "Gathering of the Clans" and found, to my dismay, a rich Scottish background in my own family. I enjoy wearing my kilt, and my girlie thinks it's downright sexy. (She loves Mel Gibson's Braveheart!)

Braveheart G L Snow ...
It makes me sad to think we have to put down one movie for another. Well I won't do it. This is Scottish history we're talkin' about folks! And these two great films have brought attention to it. Both showed the spirit of Scotland.

Jamesy ...
I felt that by seeing Braveheart before Rob Roy meant I would not give Rob Roy true credit. I said "Hah that is not as good as Braveheart."
The way to do it is to watch Rob Roy first and say "that was a good film."
Then watch Braveheart and say "Whoa, that was one amazing film."

Braveheart is the best movie ever released in the cinema, after the Predator. Mel & Liam are good actors but Mel delivered the acting much better than Liam.

Dinna fash yourselves over this comparison. The two are very different movies and are very hard to compare. Braveheart was produced to be an *epic* movie, thus it has length, breadth and depth. Rob Roy is much shorter, and consequently packs a lesser punch, at least in terms of 'epic-ery'. Both are fantastic movies with quality actors, good soundtracks and the ability to again bring to life our long dead ancestors. My point: just because they both concern Scotland of old, does not mean you can compare them.

Patrick Murphy ...
The best part of Braveheart was the characterization of the English king, as when he threw his son's male companion out the window simply in order to get his son's undivided attention. Great acting and drama there. Other than that, the movie was awful.
Historians have condemned the movie as doing a disservice to the actual people and events depicted, including the Scottish patriot Wallace himself. That is reason enough to reject the film, but the horrible dialog and intellecutally insulting love story imbedded in the film are what turned me off to begin with. Buy a copy of Rob Roy and watch it often.

Art Wagner ...
I think the difficulty in comparing them is that they were two different types of movies (as previously stated by one of the respondants). I enjoyed both greatly, but they stir different emotions and involve me in different ways. The action and emotion in Braveheart really gets your blood pumping, even if the history is a bit contrived. Rob Roy has it's moments as well, but in general they tend to be quieter ones. I especially liked the scene where Rob is explaining to his boys the meaning of honor. Very well done. The sound tracks of both movies were excellent, but I liked Rob Roy's better (Capercaille is excellent).

Tammy Kirchubel ...
I enjoyed Braveheart far more than Rob Roy. For me there was no comparison. The performances, story and even the music was much more superb than Rob Roy.

Ryan MacDonald ...
I liked both movies very much. I love Scotland and therefor love any movie based in Scotland. Both portray Scottish Highland life very well and were very well made. I have watched Braveheart about twenty times and Rob Roy about five times. I am more obsessed with Braveheart than with Rob Roy. Rob Roy's plot isnt as attractive as Braveheart's. I like the bloddy gore of Braveheart! Scottish history rules! I have both the soundtracks and love them both. I like the bagpipe in Rob Roy a little better than in Braveheart. I also like the drums in Rob Roy.
Braveheart is the greatest movie ever made and Rob Roy is about fifth. Both are great movies and I hope more of the sort are made!

Salcombe ...
rob roy has a better sound track over all because of the variety and flavor of Scotland but as far as movies go , Braveheart is hands down the winner.

Gord Pratt ...
Rob Roy VS Braveheart? They are two entirely different movies. Bravehart was an action-oriented epic film. Rob Roy was a moving drama. Both were well acted, and beautifully set in the Highlands. Very different movies, both excellent for different reasons.

Dee. Romareader ...
While I liked Rob Roy a lot, it does na hold a candle to BRAVEHEART. Liam Neesom is an excellent actor, somehow it just pales in comparison to BRAVEHEART.

Sheldon Martin ...
I really like what you have done to your page. Pretty Neat. I like that you also have added ROB ROY to your page. I still think BRAVEHEART was better but I also liked ROB ROY. I have the soundtracks to both movies and like them a lot.

jrdre ...
rob roy is well better.
